Transport for London's Journey Planner is a really good resource. You tell it where you want to go and it will tell you the best route and how long it's going to take. You can also tell it your walking speed and it will adjust your journey accordingly.
But it's a pain to have to fill in the details every time. Wouldn't it be great if you could just highlight a post code or street address on a website, press a button and it would tell you straight way how to get there from your house. No form filling. Or even better, what if the post code was already a hyper link so you just click on it. I've had that set up on my computer for a while customised to my home address and my walking speed. It works really well.
Now you can have it too. It works through a bookmarklet. A bookmarklet is just like a bookmark (or a favourite in internet explorer) but smarter. It sits in your bookmarks toolbar and when you want to plan a journey you just highlight the address and click the bookmark! It's dead easy to install and the instructions are on the next page. Read more about bookmarklets here.
The bookmarklet is customised to you so you need to supply the info below...
